Galaxy Formation and Evolution

How do galaxies form? How do they evolve? For the first time in History telescope and instrumental developments have placed the answer to these questions within our grasp. Deeper and deeper images of the sky are being taken almost daily, all throughout the electromagnetic spectrum, and showing us the appearance of the early Universe... and helping us to understand our place in the Cosmos.

I am currently involved in several projects aimed at exploring the distant Universe. Here are a few:

  1. -The Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey (GOODS)

  2. -The Evolutionary Map of the Universe (EMU)

  3. -The Westerbork Observations of the Deep Apertif Northern-sky (WODAN)

  4. -The Spitzer Extragalactic Representative Volume Survey (SERVS)

Some Publications (mostly refereed, with a couple of other particularly relevant ones)
